How IONA JETS protects your data at every stage of the booking process

When you request a private, commercial or cargo charter flight, you share sensitive information: travel dates, passenger names, routing, corporate details and contact numbers. In most of the air charter industry, that information is forwarded to brokers and operators the moment you press submit. You have no visibility on who sees it, when they see it or what they do with it. IONA JETS takes a different approach. As a Swiss-based aviation referral platform, we have built a Client Portal that keeps your contact details confidential until you decide to share them, gives you full control over who can access your request and creates an auditable record of every action taken on your behalf. This article explains how it works and why it matters.

Your contact details stay confidential until you accept a proposal

When you submit a flight request through the IONA JETS platform, your enquiry is referred to our network of established air charter broker partners. Each broker can see the flight details you provided: the route, the dates, the number of passengers or the cargo specifications. What they cannot see is your name, your email address, your phone number, your company name or any other contact information.

Your contact details are released to one broker only, and only when you choose to accept their proposal through the Client Portal. All other brokers whose proposals you did not accept never receive your contact information. This is not a setting you need to activate. It is the default behaviour of the platform, built into the system at a technical level.

This approach gives you the freedom to review multiple proposals from different brokers without any of them being able to contact you directly. You compare options on your terms, at your pace, and you choose when the conversation moves to a direct relationship.

A private Client Portal for managing requests, proposals and conversations

Every registered client has access to a secure Client Portal where all flight requests, broker proposals and conversations are centralised. When a broker responds to your request, their proposal appears in your portal with the proposed departure date and time, a message and any attached documents such as quotes, itineraries or terms.

You can open a private conversation with any broker who has submitted a proposal. Each conversation is isolated: brokers cannot see each other's proposals, messages or any information about competing offers. From your side, you have a complete view of all proposals and all conversations, allowing you to compare and negotiate before making a decision.

Once you accept a proposal, the messaging system restricts new conversations to the selected broker only. Previous conversations with other brokers remain accessible in read-only mode, so you always have a complete historical record of your interactions.

Shared access: invite your team without losing control

In corporate and group travel, the person who submits the flight request is not always the person who makes the final decision. A CEO may delegate to a travel manager. A finance director may need to review proposals before approval. An executive assistant may handle the logistics while a board member approves the itinerary.

The IONA JETS Client Portal allows any person associated with a request to invite additional team members by email. Invited users gain the same access as the original requestor: they can view the request details, review broker proposals, accept or decline offers, exchange messages with brokers and invite further team members. This shared access model means that a flight request can be managed collaboratively by multiple people within an organisation, each with full visibility and the ability to act.

The system tracks who was added, who was removed and who took each action. If a team member is removed from a request, they immediately lose access to all associated data, but the messages they sent during their involvement remain visible to the remaining participants for continuity and accountability.

A full audit trail for transparency and dispute resolution

Every action taken within the Client Portal is logged with a timestamp, the identity of the person who performed it and a description of what happened. This includes the creation of a flight request, the submission of a broker proposal, the acceptance or refusal of a proposal, every message sent, every team member added or removed and every transfer of request ownership.

These logs are retained for five years and are immutable: no user, including IONA JETS administrators, can modify or delete them. The purpose of this audit trail is to provide a clear, verifiable record in the event of a dispute, a compliance enquiry or simply a need to understand what happened and when. In an industry where verbal agreements and informal email chains are still common, this level of traceability is unusual.

Why privacy matters in air charter

Air charter clients include business executives, government officials, high-net-worth individuals, medical patients and organisations transporting sensitive cargo. The information contained in a flight request can reveal travel patterns, business relationships, health situations and financial capacity. Protecting this information is not a luxury feature. It is a fundamental requirement that the industry has historically underserved.

Most charter platforms and brokers receive your full contact details the moment you submit an enquiry. From that point, you have no control over who contacts you, how many times or through which channels. IONA JETS was designed from the ground up to reverse this dynamic: you stay anonymous to brokers until you are ready to engage directly, and the platform maintains a clear record of every interaction throughout the process.

How to get started

Submitting a flight request takes less than two minutes. Visit the request page for private aviation, group and airline charter or air cargo, fill in your flight details and submit. Your request is processed and referred to our broker partner network, typically within minutes. Create an account or log in to access the Client Portal, where you can track your request, review proposals, manage conversations and invite team members.

Your data stays protected from the first click to the final confirmation.

IONA JETS acts solely as a digital referral platform connecting clients with independent air charter brokers across private, commercial and cargo aviation. IONA JETS is not an air carrier or aircraft operator and does not operate any flights; all flights are quoted, contracted and performed exclusively by third-party brokers and/or certified operators under their own licenses, terms and conditions and insurance policies. The descriptions provided on this website are of a general nature and reflect common practices and service standards within the air charter industry; they are for guidance only and do not constitute a guarantee that a particular service, configuration or feature will be available on every mission. All services remain subject to operational constraints, availability and applicable regulations, and the precise conditions of your trip or shipment will be confirmed by the broker partner at the time of booking. Any transport-related obligations or liabilities rest solely with the contractual carrier and/or broker identified in the booking documentation.
